LAFAYETTE RENOVATION

MID-CENTURY MINDSET

The renovation of this ranch house introduces modern touches into the home while respecting and finding inspiration within the existing mid-century architecture. The once isolated kitchen is reconceived as the core of the home and connected to the adjacent rooms and outdoor spaces by removing walls, aligning views and integrating materials. A rich palette of finishes complements the existing mid-century wood paneling and ties together formerly disparate interior styles. Warm black accents, graphic wallpaper and a backlit onyx bar enliven the space with expressive qualities. Landscaping, reflective of the northern California climate and indoor-outdoor living, surrounds the pool and connects the courtyard to the kitchen.
