THOUGHTFUL DESIGN MEETS AMERICA’S PASTIME
For us, summer is a time to embrace long outdoor days, to expand our minds and to pursue other interests. Summer is also a time for baseball, and we developed a new way to bring the outdoors in with a project that celebrates this favorite pastime. Through thoughtful client collaboration, we created a unique solution for a new living space that distinctively reflects the individual personality of the owners.
We brought the game home for our clients by designing a custom steel screen wall to double as a storage system for their collection of nearly 800 baseballs. The baseball wall provides a dynamic separation between the office and seating area - visually interesting and endlessly transformable. A similar custom stair railing connects the new space to the rest of the home, while a skylight and enlarged windows bring in natural light to the once dark and underutilized basement. Long Island Project
For the past several years, our office has been hard at work on a ground-up family home located on the Long Island Sound (yes, we do take projects that are out-of-state). This project has been a true multi-disciplinary process, relying on our array of architecture, landscape and interior design skills to create a wholistic space inside and out. While we can’t convey the depth of our design process in one paragraph, we can share some images that give a little insight into what is coming. Construction is near completion, the finishing touches are in progress and we can’t wait to share more with you soon.
OAKLAND BALLERSLiving and working in Oakland keeps us deeply invested in the culture and environment of our city. The impending departure of the Oakland A’s has allowed for a new baseball team to capture our hearts. The Oakland Ballers, affectionately referred to as the B’s, are on the scene and Tierney Conner represented at historic Raimondi Park for their opening home game. It was exciting, up-close and personal, and it embodied the home-town pride that we have always loved!
